A very mindless knit and the right kind of yarn for this - Wollmeise Merino DK. It has just a hint of variegation, is soft and very well spun.
By now surely everybody has a Rikke hat. My sister needed one as well. The pattern has been in my queue since February 2011. I've been looking for the right yarn for it, as I felt that a slight variegated one would work especially well with garter stitch. Merino yarn would not be my choice for the very cold days, but it should be just the right thing for London winters. I used up 109grams of yarn for it, and I'm hoping that the remaining yarn will be enough for a maybe less slouchy hat for me.
Wow, this has been a very productive year, knitting-wise. I surely have more knits to blog about than there are days left in this year. :) One of these days I'll do a year round-up post, just need to find a quieter moment for that. Hope you're all well. I've been very much enjoying all of your end-of-year posts.
We posted within a day of the same hat , knitted in blue for our sisters .. What a lovely coincidence :) and it looks very pretty indeed x
